Last call to sign up for digital platform training
Food & Drink Ambassadors across Scotland have only a short time left to secure their place on essential training for a new digital platform.
This new system, developed by STEM Learning, replaces the previous one and is designed to improve the experience as a Food & Drink Ambassador. It's more user-friendly and efficient, incorporating lots of feedback from both Ambassadors and the teachers they support.
The current platform has been temporarily taken offline ahead of the imminent launch.
Training sessions running throughout August and into early September are filling fast, with organisers urging all current Ambassadors to register now.
“As Food & Drink Ambassadors, we're part of the national STEM network which gives us access to their infrastructure,” said project co-ordinator Emma Koubayssi.
“This lets you track the impact of your volunteering and provides essential metrics to employers and industry, demonstrating what's being done to attract future talent to the sector.
“I attended one of the training sessions and it was incredibly valuable - great questions from participants and as it’s bite-sized at 45 minutes, it's absolutely worth everyone's time.”
Major improvements
The refreshed platform streamlines the process of finding and recording volunteering sessions, giving Ambassadors more time to focus on inspiring the next generation.
They will now have direct access to the STEM Ambassadors Training Hub, a wide range of resources and online CPD (continuing professional development) materials.
The platform also serves as a marketplace where volunteers can post what they can offer to local schools while browsing available opportunities in their area.
What the training covers
The 45-minute session will walk attendees through all the key features, including how to:
log volunteering hours effectively
find and apply for upcoming opportunities
navigate all the key features of the new platform
make the most of impact tracking features
Once live, it's also the perfect time to log any activity Ambassadors haven't had a chance to input from the last school year.
Book your place now
Training sessions are available throughout August and into early September - but spaces are filling fast.
