Our LinkedIn presence evolves: join, follow and share
There has been a significant evolution in the LinkedIn presence for Scottish Food & Drink Ambassadors, designed to enhance connection, collaboration and our collective impact.
This strategic shift reflects our commitment to fostering a vibrant and effective community, while also amplifying our message to a wider audience.
A new hub for our mission: the Scottish Food & Drink Ambassadors showcase page
We have officially launched and established our dedicated LinkedIn showcase page. This page will now serve as our primary public-facing platform there.
Why a showcase page? For us, this means a dedicated space to:
promote and "sell" what we do: we'll be showcasing the incredible work of our Ambassadors, highlighting the impact they have in inspiring young people about careers in Scottish food and drink
act as recruitment tool: the page will be instrumental in attracting new Ambassadors, showcasing the value and rewards of joining our programme
gain a wider reach: unlike a private group, the content on our showcase page is publicly viewable, meaning it appears in search results and can be seen by anyone on or off LinkedIn. This greatly expands our reach and visibility to potential partners, educators, and future Ambassadors
We strongly encourage all current Scottish Food & Drink Ambassadors to follow our new showcase page and actively encourage your networks to do the same. Your engagement here will be vital in building a strong, visible presence for our programme.
Our private LinkedIn group: a conversation among friends
In tandem with the showcase page, our existing LinkedIn group has moved from a "public" to a "private listed" group.
This change allows us to cultivate a more focused and intimate environment for our valued Ambassadors.
What does "private listed" mean? Well, it still appears in LinkedIn search results, making it discoverable. It remains visible to other members on your LinkedIn profile under "interests."
And LinkedIn users can see if a connection is a member, fostering transparency within your network.
Crucially, only group members can see posts within this group.
This shift means our private group will become a true conversation among friends. It's a dedicated space for Ambassadors to:
share knowledge & experience: discuss challenges, celebrate successes, and exchange valuable insights from your diverse backgrounds in the food and drink sector
connect with others: build deeper connections with fellow Ambassadors, fostering a supportive and collaborative community.
share tips, events and resources: post about relevant industry news, upcoming events, useful resources and practical advice that can benefit everyone.
Why the change?
Our Ambassadors play a vital role in addressing the skills gap and inspiring the next generation into Scotland's thriving food and drink industry.
Our Ambassadors use their real-world experience to ignite passion for STEM subjects and showcase the vast career opportunities within our sector – from food science and engineering to marketing and product development.
LinkedIn, as the leading professional networking platform, is the ideal environment to facilitate these connections and share these stories. The new structure allows us to have both a strong public voice for promotion and recruitment through the showcase page, and a dedicated, more intimate space for our Ambassadors to engage with us and each other.
Looking ahead, we're also excited to announce the relaunch of our e-newsletter later this month. This will provide another crucial channel for communication, keeping you updated on campaign news, Ambassador activities and valuable resources.
These changes on LinkedIn, alongside our renewed e-newsletter, are all about strengthening our community and maximising our ability to inspire future talent.
Follow our official page and continue to engage in our private group – together, we are shaping the future of Scotland's food and drink workforce!
