New digital platform lets more Ambassador employer partners measure and showcase impact

The Scottish Food & Drink Ambassador programme - in partnership with STEM Learning - is making it easier for employers to become meaningful partners in building our industry's future workforce.

In a significant update with the new STEM Learning digital platform, employers now need just 10 approved Ambassadors to access the Partnership Reporting dashboard.

Previously available only to those with 25 or more, this update means more employers can now measure, evidence and share the impact of their employee Ambassador volunteering.

What's new with Partnership Reporting

Across our network, partner organisations are delivering impactful experiences -  connecting with young people, sparking curiosity and helping to shape future careers. But tracking and demonstrating this impact can be difficult.

During STEM Learning's recent Social Value and Employee Volunteering Masterclass, partners told them they struggled with fragmented reporting systems and limited detail on impact. This tool brings everything together in one place.

The updated Partnership Reporting dashboard puts powerful insights at employers’ fingertips:

  • track real impact: volunteering hours delivered, activities completed and beneficiaries reached

  • measure social value: clear impact scores that support your CSR and ESG reporting

  • understand reach: school phases and locations where your team is engaging

  • monitor engagement: Ambassador registration status and activity levels

  • tell your story: data-backed success stories that demonstrate your commitment to the future workforce

Why become an employer partner?

Build your talent pipeline. Young people who engage with your company are significantly more likely to consider you as an employer, while your staff develop valuable communication and leadership skills through meaningful volunteering.

We handle the logistics – free training, enhanced PVG checks, public liability insurance and flexible opportunities that fit around work schedules. Plus every young person inspired strengthens our entire industry’s future workforce.

How it works

Becoming an employer partner is simpler than you think – you may already be doing much of this:

  • encourage interested employees to become Food & Drink Ambassadors

  • allow time for volunteering activities (even just a few hours to start)

  • celebrate involvement internally and appoint an in-house coordinator

  • host school visits, work experience or support career talks

There's no “one size fits all” approach. A small producer might focus on one local school, while larger manufacturers engage across multiple regions. It's about what works for your business.
